Something not right? Ask.

Most of it is answered below — licence codes, printing at 1:1, and what to do when the calibration bar measures short. If your question is not here, email it over. Replies come from the bloke who built it, not a help desk.

On the job

Using it on site

Is the pattern sized over the lagging or the bare pipe?

Over the lagging, always. Cladding OD = pipe OD + twice the insulation thickness, and every pattern in the app is worked to that outside diameter.

Type the bare pipe size and the lagging thickness and it does the sum for you. If you already know the finished diameter, type that in instead.

Does it work with no signal?

Yes. The whole app is one offline file, so once it is installed it runs in a plant room, a cabin or up a tower with no bars at all. Nothing is fetched while you work.

Worth doing anyway: open it once with signal now and then so it picks up the current version, and always before you type in a new licence code.

What if there is no printer on site?

Use the mark-out-by-hand tables. Every fitting gives you its ordinates, so you can set the pattern out straight onto the sheet with a rule, a square and a scriber.

Same numbers the template is drawn from — it just takes longer than printing it.

Which fittings do I get without paying?

The mitred elbow and the reducer, plus the standard pipe chart. They print full size with no watermark, so you can prove the accuracy on your own metal before you spend anything.

Pro unlocks the other 22 — lobster backs, double bends, cones, tees, trunnions, square-to-round transformers, watershed tops, dished ends and vessel heads.

Can I export DXF for the plasma?

Yes, on Pro. DXF export gives you the developed flat pattern as line work for plasma and laser.

Pro also carries saved Jobs you can reprint, your company name on every template, and area and sheet-fit on every pattern.

Printing

Getting it out at 1:1

Will it print at the right size?

It will, as long as you print at 100%. In the print dialog choose "Actual size" or "100%" and never "Fit to page" or "Shrink to fit". That one setting is the biggest cause of a wrong template by a mile.

Every sheet carries a 100 mm calibration bar. Put a tape across it before you mark any metal. If it measures 100 mm, the sheet came out at 1:1.

The calibration bar measures short. What now?

Your printer is scaling. Go back into the print dialog, set the scale to 100% or Actual size, and turn off any fit, shrink-to-fit or borderless option, then print one sheet and measure again.

Some drivers drop back to "fit to page" every time the dialog opens, so check it on every print until you know how yours behaves.

What paper do I need?

A4 is fine. Templates tile across A4, A3, Letter, Legal or Tabloid, with crosshairs printed on each sheet so you line the pages up and tape them into one full-size pattern.

A3 just means fewer sheets to join on the big stuff.

How do I know the pattern is right before I cut a batch?

Print one and offer it up to the metal. That is the whole discipline: print at 100%, measure the calibration bar, offer the first template up before you cut a batch.

The patterns are real flat-pattern development and they are tested on real metal on real jobs, but the final check on any cut is yours.

Licence

Codes, devices and paying

How do I get my licence code?

It arrives by email the moment you pay. Open TurboClad, tap "Unlock all fittings — Go Pro" (or Settings, then Unlock), and type it in.

Codes are letters and numbers only. The dashes are there to make them readable and do not have to be typed.

I have lost my code

Email support@turboclad.co.uk from the address you paid with and we will send it again.

There is no account to recover and no password to reset — the code is the whole thing, so keep the email.

The app says my code is not right

Check every character first. It is letters and numbers only, dashes optional, and a 0 is a zero.

If it still refuses, open the app once with signal so it is running the current version, then try again. If it will not have it after that, email us the code and we will look at it.

My code says expired

That is a monthly or annual code reaching the end of its term. Your renewal code arrives by email when the subscription renews.

The app keeps working for 14 days past the date, so a late email never stops a job. Lifetime codes never expire at all.

Can I use it on more than one device?

Yes. The code unlocks Pro on any of your own devices — phone, tablet, the machine in the office. It is for you or your company, not for posting up publicly.

Jobs and settings live on the device itself, so if you want them on the new one, export a backup from Settings first and restore it at the other end.

I installed it from Google Play but I had the web version before

The Play app keeps its own storage, so enter your licence code once more and restore your Settings backup if you made one.

The code does not get used up — it works in both.

Do I need an account?

No. No sign-up, no login, no password. The free tier just works and Pro is a code you type in.

Nothing about the job leaves your device — no data is collected and none is shared.

Monthly, annual or lifetime — what is the difference?

Price, and how long the code lasts. £3.99 a month is for a short contract: the code runs for the month and a fresh one lands by email each renewal. £29.99 a year is the one most will pick — it beats the monthly after eight months. £79.99 once buys a code that never expires.

Same Pro whichever you pick — nothing is held back from the monthly. Cancel whenever you like and Pro runs to the end of the code you already hold, with the 14-day grace on top.

Can I have a refund?

Yes, within 14 days of buying Pro. Email us and we will refund it.

Try the free tier first, though. It prints real 1:1 patterns, so you can prove the app on your own metal before you pay for anything.

Prices and what Pro unlocks are on the pricing page. The licence, refunds and the liability wording are in the terms.

Ask a question

Tell us the fitting, the sizes you typed in and what came out wrong, and we can usually spot it straight away. A photo of the sheet next to the metal helps — send that to support@turboclad.co.uk.
